ALTAR

A living, breathing membership for death workers, THE DEATH CURIOUS, doulas, threshold guides, and those walking with grief, ritual, and remembrance.

WHY ALTAR EXISTS

ALTAR was not created as a business idea.
It was birthed from the lived reality of this work.

From sitting at bedsides in the quiet hours.
From conversations that happen after everyone else has left.
From the questions that come after the training ends.
From the ache of doing sacred, emotionally complex work in isolation.

ALTAR emerged because again and again, the same truths kept surfacing:

That death work is not just logistical, it is relational, emotional, spiritual, and ancestral.
That grief does not move in straight lines.
That holding others through transition requires ongoing resourcing, not one-time education.
That many who are called to this work are deeply sensitive, intuitive, and discerning and often unsupported in ways that actually meet them.

ALTAR exists because this work asks something of you, and there has not been enough space asking how you are held in return.

WHO ALTAR IS FOR

ALTAR was created for people who feel drawn toward death, dying, grief, and end of life work, even if they are not yet sure what that means for them.

This space is intentionally designed to meet you where you are, and to walk with you as your relationship to this work unfolds.

You may belong here if:

You are death curious and feel called toward this work, but are not ready to commit to a full doula training

You are a seasoned death worker or doula looking for community, reflection, and shared lived experience

ALTAR is not about pushing you into a specific identity or path.
It is about offering context, orientation, and companionship as you find your way.

A SPACE THAT GROWS WITH YOU

Some people arrive at ALTAR with curiosity.
Some arrive with questions.
Some arrive with years of experience and a quiet sense of loneliness.

ALTAR was built to hold all of these entry points.

You do not need to believe or practice anything specific to be here.
You do not need special language or spiritual frameworks.

The deeper and more ritual based layers of this work are introduced gently and organically, as invitations rather than requirements.

Everything in ALTAR is offered with the understanding that trust builds over time, meaning reveals itself through experience, and people move at different paces

WHAT MATTERS MOST

More than credentials or certainty, ALTAR values curiosity, care, humility, and a willingness to learn from lived experience.

If you feel drawn to this work and want a place that is grounded but meaningful, practical but reverent, and educational without being overwhelming, ALTAR was created with you in mind.

IF YOU’RE STILL UNSURE

If you are wondering whether you are ready enough, that question alone often means you are already listening.

You are welcome to keep reading, explore the questions this space holds, and feel into whether ALTAR feels like a place you could return to.

There is no pressure to decide immediately.
This is a space meant to meet you in real time.

What if this work did not feel so lonely?

A different way of being supported

You feel steadied and supported in this work.

You are not guessing your next step alone.

Your life and your work are tended with care.

You are surrounded by people who get it.

THE QUESTIONS ALTAR HOLDS

Most people do not arrive at this work with certainty.
They arrive with questions.

Questions that do not always have clean answers.
Questions that surface in the quiet moments, between clients, after a visit, late at night.

ALTAR exists to be a place where these questions are welcome.

Inside this space, we explore questions like:

How do I actually support someone who is dying when there is nothing left to fix?
What do I say when families are overwhelmed, emotional, or unsure what they want?
How do I hold space without absorbing everything into my own body?
What do I do with my own grief after walking with someone else through theirs?
How do I honor meaning and ritual inside medical systems that feel rushed or clinical?
How do I know when I am over giving versus being in right relationship with this work?
How do I explain what I do to others in a way that feels grounded and clear?
How do I keep learning and growing without constantly enrolling in new trainings?
How do I stay human, present, and resourced while doing work that asks so much of me?

These are not beginner questions.
They are not advanced questions.

They are human questions that arise when someone is genuinely engaged with this work.

Meet Your Guide

"Hello, I'm Morgan!

ALTAR is guided by Morgan Fava, a death doula, grief supporter, ritualist, and threshold guide whose work is rooted in direct experience, lived relationship, and long term devotion to this path.

Morgan has spent years walking with individuals and families through death, dying, grief, and profound life transitions. Her work is shaped by time at bedsides, by conversations that unfold in uncertainty, and by witnessing the emotional and relational complexity that rarely fits neatly into training manuals or certifications. She understands that this work is not only about what we do for others, but about who we must become in order to hold it with integrity.

Alongside her work in end of life care, Morgan is also a six figure entrepreneur who has built and sustained her work without burning out, bypassing, or abandoning herself. Through this path, she has come to understand that the majority of what determines our capacity to hold others lives beneath the surface. Our nervous system. Our subconscious beliefs. Our relationship to worth, rest, authority, and responsibility. More than ninety percent of this work is cultivated inside the inner temple, in the unseen layers where old stories, inherited patterns, and survival strategies quietly shape how we show up.

This is why Morgan creates containers that are both deeply grounded and intentionally held. Her approach weaves structure and intuition, clarity and devotion, masculine and feminine energetics, without forcing polarity or performance. She believes that strong boundaries and soft presence are not opposites, that ritual does not need to be dramatic to be meaningful, and that true authority grows from embodiment rather than image.

ALTAR reflects this philosophy. It is designed to support people at many stages of their relationship to death work, from those who are death curious, to newly trained doulas, to seasoned practitioners seeking community and lived wisdom. It is guided with care, discernment, and steadiness, not as a hierarchy, but as a field that can hold honest questions, real experience, and long term integration.

Morgan does not position herself as the one with all the answers. She positions herself as someone who knows how to hold the space where the right questions can be explored skillfully and over time. ALTAR is an invitation into that kind of leadership, and that kind of support.

a different way to walk this work

Drawn to death work, but unsure where to begin?

This space was created for the in between.

For those who feel a pull toward death, dying, grief, and end of life work, but are not yet sure what that calling is asking of them.

For those who are curious but hesitant to commit to a full training.
For those who have completed a training and are wondering how to translate it into real life.
For those who have been doing this work for years and quietly miss being in community with others who understand it.

ALTAR is a place to orient.
To listen.
To learn alongside others who are asking similar questions.

You do not need to arrive with certainty or a clear plan.
You do not need to have a title or identity fully formed.

You are invited into a community where lived experience is shared honestly, questions are welcomed, and guidance is offered without pressure to perform or rush.

This is a space where curiosity is respected, where practice unfolds over time, and where support is available as your relationship to this work deepens.

 What’s Included
  • The Current holds the emotional, intuitive, and internal dimensions of this work.

This is where we tend to the nervous system, unpack subconscious beliefs, and learn how to be with the depths of death and grief without becoming overwhelmed or disconnected from ourselves.

Inside this space, you will explore things like energetic hygiene, sacred yes and sacred no, boundaries that are compassionate and clear, and how to trust your intuition in real situations. We work with the emotional body, the void, uncertainty, and the places where fear, reverence, and responsibility meet.

This is where you learn how to stay present, regulated, and grounded while doing work that asks you to sit at the edge of life and death.

  • The Vessel holds the container that allows the Current to move without burning you out.

This is where we talk about the practical realities of doing this work in the world. Entrepreneurship, pricing, reciprocity, contracts, scope of practice, branding, and calling in work that is aligned and sustainable.

Inside the Vessel, you learn how to build structures that support longevity. How to value your time and energy. How to create systems that hold you so you are not carrying everything alone.

This is where clarity replaces chaos, and where your calling is supported by integrity, boundaries, and practical frameworks.

  • Learning through real stories and collective wisdom

This work does not live in theory. It lives in experience.

ALTAR includes space for real conversations about what is actually happening in your work. Case studies. Fireside style conversations. Community submissions where we talk openly about what worked, what did not, and what people are navigating right now.

We explore the realities of working in an unregulated field, regional differences, changing legislation, ethical questions, and the gray areas that rarely get addressed elsewhere.

This is where resources are shared, relationships are built, and no one has to pretend they have it all figured out

  • Being held while you hold others

ALTAR includes optional spaces dedicated to grief support and tending to those who do this work.

This is where you are invited to bring what you are carrying. Loss, fatigue, doubt, devotion, heartbreak, and love. This space exists so that your cup is not quietly emptied while you continue to give.

These offerings support emotional integration, compassion fatigue prevention, and the long term health of the people doing this work.

  • Support no matter where you are starting

ALTAR is intentionally designed to serve three ongoing pathways at all times.

Those who are death curious and exploring what this work actually involves.
Those who have completed a training and are asking what comes next.
Those who are seasoned practitioners or come from hospice or medical backgrounds and want to integrate this work more fully.

Inside ALTAR, you will learn about the full scope of death doula work, including end of life care planning, paperwork, advocacy, body disposition options, family support, and the realities of working with systems.

No matter where you enter, there is relevant guidance and support available.

  • Honoring the deeper layers of this work

ALTAR gently weaves ritual, meaning, and remembrance into the container in ways that are grounded and accessible.

These offerings support presence, integration, and reverence without requiring a spiritual identity or belief system. They are here to help this work remain human, intentional, and connected to something larger than task lists and logistics.

Everything is offered as an invitation. Nothing is required.

ALTAR is a living, breathing space designed to support people in relationship with death, grief, and end of life work at every stage of their journey.

This container is held through complementary energetics that honor both depth and structure, being and doing, intuition and integrity. Together, they allow this work to be sustainable, resourced, and rooted in real life.

Everything inside ALTAR is shaped by the actual questions people ask, the realities of an unregulated field, and the understanding that this work evolves as we do.

How ALTAR is held

  • “Morgan held space for my unraveling in a way no one else ever has. Her presence is sacred, her words are truth, and her containers are pure medicine.”

  • “Working with Morgan changed how I lead, how I listen, and how I trust myself. She guided me back to my own voice with such fierce grace.”

  • “I came in burnt out and disconnected. I left feeling alive again. Morgan doesn’t just teach—she transmits. Her spaces are portals.”

  • "This work helped me eliminate fear and really hone in on the strengths of my existence. Understanding my human design and how my stars are aligned was Super helpful"

Ceremonial & Grounded

Why ALTAR?

An altar is not something you build once and walk away from.

It is something you tend.

An altar changes with the season you are in. Sometimes it holds a very clear intention. A question you are living with. A threshold you are standing at.

Other times, an altar exists simply as a place to return. To be witnessed. To be held. To remember what matters.

ALTAR was named from this understanding.

This membership is not meant to be static or transactional. It is meant to be lived in. Returned to. Adjusted. Cared for.

There will be times you come to ALTAR seeking clarity, guidance, or practical support. There will also be times you come simply to sit in community with others who understand the weight and beauty of this work.

Like any altar, this space is built on reciprocity. What you receive is shaped by how you show up, not through performance or productivity, but through presence, honesty, and care.

ALTAR is tended with intention. By me. By the people who choose to be here. And by the collective rhythm that forms when individuals gather with shared values.

This is a space for learning and practice.
A space for balance and reflection.
A space to be witnessed and to witness others.

Not perfectly. But thoughtfully. And with deep care.

FAQ

Everything you need to know before enrolling

  • No. ALTAR is not a certification and does not replace formal training.

ALTAR exists to support you before, during, or after training with community, guidance, and integration. Many people arrive here feeling called to this work but unsure of next steps, or feeling unsupported once training ends. This space helps bridge those gaps.

  • Yes.

ALTAR is designed to support people who are death curious, adjacent to the work, or in early exploration. You are not expected to already know your role or path. Curiosity, honesty, and presence are enough.

  • Yes. This is one of the primary reasons ALTAR exists.

Many people leave trainings with knowledge but little support around networking, finding clients, setting boundaries, building sustainable offerings, or integrating the emotional realities of the work. ALTAR offers ongoing conversation, practical guidance, and real world context to help you move forward.

  • ALTAR includes practical support around sustainability, boundaries, networking, and building a practice that aligns with your values. It is not a traditional business coaching program.

The focus is on helping you build something that feels ethical, human, and sustainable without burning out or losing the heart of the work.

  • ALTAR is designed to support you without overwhelming you.

You are welcome to attend live calls when you can, bring questions to office hours, and engage with the community at your own pace. Replays and resources are available if you cannot attend live.

There is no expectation to participate in everything.

  • Live calls are recorded and shared inside the space.

You are also welcome to bring questions asynchronously and engage with the community in ways that work for your schedule.

  • ALTAR is intentionally curated and actively tended.

This is not a space for half answers, dismissive responses, or competitive dynamics. Questions are met with thoughtfulness, context, and care. The tone of the space matters, and it is something that is held collectively.

An Invitation
