Ways to be in this work together, not just read about it.
Some of what's below is for the family standing at a bedside. Some is for the practitioner building her practice. Some is for the woman crossing a threshold that isn't death but feels like one. Jump to the room that's yours, or scroll the whole page.
Grief & Dying
For the dying, the family caregiver, and the bereaved
GRIEF IS NOT LINEAR
Monday, September 28 · 6:00pm · Hood River Library
A free community workshop with Morgan Fava, Sacred Transitions™
Nobody tells you that grief doesn't follow a timeline. That it can show up years later, in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday, for a loss you thought you'd already moved through. This session is a gentle, honest look at what grief actually looks like, why it doesn't move in stages the way we were taught, and how to support yourself and the people you love through it. No clinical framework, no fixing, just real conversation in a space where it's finally okay to say what you're actually carrying.
Free to attend. No experience necessary. Bring a friend.
Other Topics Coming: November 16th and December 1st.
Ancestral Healing Grief Circle
October — date TBD (Hood River, OR)
Grief doesn't end with the people we can still call. Some of the most unfinished mourning lives in the relationships we never got to close, the ancestors we never met, the lines of family that ended in silence instead of goodbye. This circle is a space to build real connection with your deceased ancestors through grief itself — not around it, not in spite of it, but as the doorway in. Also a valuable practice for death workers wanting to deepen their own relationship with ancestral grief before holding it for others.
In-Person Grief Gathering
(Hood River, OR)
September 16 · 6:00–8:00pm · Hood River, OR In-Person · Gathering
A room to sit with grief in person, without having to explain it or perform being okay. No agenda beyond being witnessed alongside others who understand.
A recurring space for caregivers to say the unsayable parts — the exhaustion, the guilt, the grief that starts before the death does. Drop into any session; you don't need to attend every date.
Upcoming dates: September 15 · October 20 · November 17 · December 15

Anatomy of Sorrow
September 24 – October 8 · Online · Co-taught with Lauren of La Mort
Anatomy of Sorrow is a three-week immersive series for those who want to meet grief with depth, courage, and reverence.
In our time together, we will:
Map the shifting landscape of grief and the ways it reshapes our inner and outer worlds.
Explore the body of grief—how sorrow lives in our cells, breath, and bones, and how we can tend to it.
Reclaim grief as a sacred teacher through ritual and remembrance, finding beauty and meaning in the ache.
This is a space for truth-telling, presence, and connection—for anyone ready to walk with grief as both wound and wisdom.
Make It Sacred
Enroll anytime · Online · Co-taught with Lauren of La Mort
Death is not just a medical event. It is one of the most profound thresholds a human being will ever cross, and it deserves to be held that way. Make It Sacred is a training in ritual and ceremony for end-of-life, designed for death workers, caregivers, and anyone called to bring intentionality, meaning, and reverence to the dying process. You'll leave with practical tools for creating sacred space, leading ceremony, and honoring the threshold in a way that feels true to the person dying and the people who love them.
